New Emphasis on Veterans
After celebrating the
Marine Corp Birthday on Oct 10 and joining the Marine Corp League on the same day, I became very impressed by the patriotism
of the many people who honored our service.
The next day Oct 11 I celebrated Veterans day at the VFW
ceremony with members of all the other local services. Once again I was very impressed by the high regard shown by the public
for all branches of the Armed Forces. Because of my experience of these two days my website will now show a much greater
emphasis on all things related to Veterans. Much more will be coming soon.

The Veterans Service Officer
Veteran Service Representatives are assigned to offices in both northern and southern Nevada.
These Representatives are responsible for helping veterans and their family members obtain federal services, compensation,
and government benefits to which they are entitled.
Service representatives:
1) Help complete and file Veteran Administration (VA) claims.
2) File appeals and notices of disagreement, and when requested.
3) Represent veterans at VA hearings.
They provide liaison to veteran service organizations and assist service members from Nevada who
are on active military duty. They also provide technical assistance and training to County Service Representatives and
Veterans Organization Service Officers as resources permit. This is of great value because of the complex nature of
the VA compensation system.
